Support FAQ's

- I can't seem to find my manual - where is it?

There is a PDF file in your UBlok directory which contains the file. It is called UBlok User Manual.pdf. Just click on it and Adobe will open it up for you.

- My tablet seems to be slow this morning. What is going on?

We recommend that you disable Windows updates, antivirus updates, or other updates  and suggest that you only have your tablet update at times when it is not being used for blocks. Windows or other updates can penalize performance even on the fastest computer, and the last thing you want is an update of 500 megs to be going on while you are doing a block.

If you have turned off automatic Windows updates and the problem persists, turn your tablet off. Wait a few seconds, and turn it on again. This should take care of any speed issues.

- Why else could my tablet be slow today?

If you were using it for something else, the program may not have closed properly. Turn off the tablet - wait 15 seconds, and then start it up again. All should be well. We also recommend that you place your tablet on Sleep Mode = Never (Control Panel ->Windows System ->Settings). Sleep mode sometimes will wake your tablet in "lazy" mode.

- My system is still slow - what do you recommend?

You can defragment your solid state drive with Windows tools. Also check if you are running other programs simultaneously with U-Blok that require much CPU.

- I did a video this morning that lasted 5 minutes, and only a fragment of it is saved. What could have happened?

We save all of our videos and PDF's in the SD card of the tablet so as to never fragment your solid state hard drive. But like any storage device, you must keep track of your free space. Your system probably used up the last free space you had! Backup your files elsewhere and free up your D drive (SD card) and all will be back to normal.

- Adobe gives me an error when I try to create a report for my procedure.

- Ultrasound Probe questions

- The probe requires little maintenance aside from periodically cleaning it with a bactericidal solution. We recommend that you use a Tegaderm or other thin protective film to cover the probe before you use it on a patient.

- The probe plugs into the USB port on the right side of your Surface 3 Pro. It receives its power through there and requires no charging. Just keep it plugged to your tablet at all times when you are working or your U-Blok system will stop working and advise you that the probe was disconnected.

- The probe type will be displayed on the bottom of the U-Blok toolstrip at all times. Remember that our probes have different recommended uses: SP for anesthesia, and NV for vascular access.

- The probe intermittently works - you may need a new USB cable for it.
